Joggie and I decided to visit Oord Nebo on Friday 1 November 2013. It was a beautiful sunshine day with little wind and the flow rate was about 15 cub m/s after the previous week’s flush of about 50 cub m/s. Most of the algae was flushed away which means less snagging. We were on the water at about 9:00 and after about ten minutes Joggie was on! We netted about seven SM’s during the morning session, all on #14-16 black mayfly nymphs. Joggie hooked a 4 kg barbel on a #14 PTN that took almost all his backing before he could nett it in calmer water! Shortly after that I caught a 3.5 kg SM in prime condition.
During the afternoon session we netted another seven or eight SM’s, most on PTN hotspots. We called it a day at around 16:00 and what a nice day this has been!
